Karsog is an ancient town and is described in folk tales of the epic Mahabharata.Karsog is the combination of two words: "Kar" and "sog", translating to "daily mourning". According to the Mahabharata, during the time of Pandavas, a Rakshasha used to eat a townsperson each day.
